Coaching Agreement

Last updated October 13, 2026

This agreement is between you and Joe Grant, doing business as Joe Grant Coaching. It applies to any coaching you buy from me, including programs like The 12-Week Compass, one-on-one coaching, or any other coaching package. When you check the box at checkout and complete payment, you agree to it.

01Your coaching

All coaching is either one-on-one or in a group, by Zoom or phone, at the day and time we set. The details of what you bought, including the number of sessions, duration, and price, are the ones shown on the program page and at checkout.

Each package has a set number of sessions and a set length. A package can run one week past its length, at most, to make up a rescheduled session. For example, a 12-week program finishes within 13 weeks. Sessions not used by then expire.

02Rescheduling, missed sessions, and late arrivals

  • Give me at least 24 hours' notice and we'll move your session to another time that same week.
  • A session missed without 24 hours' notice counts as used.
  • Sessions start and end on time. There's a full hour of work in every session, so if you're more than 5 minutes late, the session will have to be compressed or parts left out. If you're late without letting me know, the session may count as missed.
  • If I need to cancel a session, I'll give you as much notice as I can and we will reschedule. You don't lose that session.

03Payment

You pay the price shown at checkout. Where a payment plan is offered, the card you use is charged automatically on the schedule shown at checkout.

A payment plan is a way to pay for the full package, not a subscription you can stop partway through. If a payment doesn't go through, sessions pause until it's paid, and it must be paid before your next scheduled session.

04Refunds

You get a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before your first session. After that, coaching is non-refundable, including any remaining payment plan payments.

05Coaching is not therapy

Coaching is about where you're going and how you get there. It is not therapy, counseling, or treatment for any mental or medical condition, and I am not a licensed therapist. It is also not legal, tax, or financial advice.

If something comes up that needs a licensed professional, I'll tell you, and I expect you to get that help. If you're working with a therapist or doctor, coaching is meant to sit alongside that work, not replace it.

06Confidentiality

What you share in our sessions stays between us. I don't share your information or your story with anyone without your written permission. That includes using you as an example or a testimonial.

The exceptions: if I believe you or someone else is at risk of serious harm, if I learn of abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or if the law requires me to disclose something.

07Session notes

I use a digital note taker to help me take notes during our sessions. Sessions are not recorded. Your notes are kept private and used only for your coaching.

08Your part

You're responsible for your own decisions, actions, and results. I'll ask hard questions and hold you to what you say you'll do, but the work happens between sessions, and that part is yours. I can't promise a specific result. What I can promise is that I'll show up prepared every session and give you my full attention.

09The fine print

  • My total responsibility to you under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for your coaching.
  • State law governs this agreement.
  • This is the full agreement between us. I may update it from time to time. The version in place when you paid is the one that applies to what you bought.
